Saint Silas Church, Pentonville, London

Welcome to our website.
Saint Silas is a lively church faithful to the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. We enjoy our life together and we're committed to connecting with the local community. Our regular worshippers include people and families of all ages with all sorts of backgrounds.
We believe that God has called us together as a community of Christians to be faithful in worship and prayer, to become more like Jesus Christ and to help bring about the transformation of society for the better.
Our Sunday Parish Mass (at 11.00 a.m. each week) is at the heart of our life together. We enjoy good music and modern ceremonial and lay people are involved in a range of ministries. If you're looking for a friendly church, you will be made warmly welcome. We're all on a pilgrimage through life - why not come and walk with us ?
In 2013 we're celebrating the 150th anniversary of the completion of our church building. It became a place of worship in 1863 (though it was then called Christ Church, Pentonville). The church was not consecrated as St Silas until 1867.
In 2010 St Silas became the first church building in England to have a new roof complete with solar tiles.
We're in central London where Islington, King's Cross and Clerkenwell meet - on the corner of Penton St and Risinghill St, just north of Pentonville Road. Get the bus to Pentonville Rd and walk up Penton St; or take the Northern Line or bus to Angel. We're 5 minutes' walk from the Angel - walk through Chapel Market and you can't miss the church at the end.
We hope this website is helpful, but it won't tell you everything you might want to know. Do use the 'Contacts' list to be in touch.
